One of the recurring pet peeves of suppliers is a particularly rude one - and one I'm guilty of committing myself. It's the old RSVP-and-then-no-show trick that we like to pull on suppliers when they plan FAM trips, luncheons, dinners, educational seminars, you name it, we've blown it off.
You'd think we planners would understand the sheer frustration (not to mention the financial repercussions!) of planning an event and then only half of those who RSVP'd actually show up. Well, this is the NORM for supplier events of all types!
My feet hurt...I'm tired...I spilled coffee on my pants...I don't feel like going anymore...my dog just had puppies...whatever the excuse, don't give in to it!
Next time you RSVP for an event, remember the Karma Gods are watching...just go if you said you would. 'Nuff said.
